Taking time from their busy schedule of asset flipping and suing Fortnite, PUBG Corp have revealed that PUBG's update #15 will add the new map Sanhok, along with an assault rifle exclusive to the map called QBZ95, which replaces the SCAR-L.
The update lands on 22 June 2018, giving us a proper taste of Sanhok and the QBZ95. You may recall Sanhok entering its final trial run on PUBG's Experimental Test Server in the of May 2018, having previously changed the name from Codename: Savage.
Greene and Co claim that "the map may be smaller, but the battles won't be", and to be fair, he's right on the money. Sanhok is one quarter the size of Erangel and Miramar, measuring mere 4x4, which combined with 100 players means pure and unadulterated PUBG carnage, further reinforced by the dev's tweaks.
Sanhok has dynamic weather, shorter and smaller redzones, as well as well as dynamic bluezones, which check for player numbers before "deciding the next circle". PUBG Corp even threw in apples, which you can chuck at people while waiting for the plane.
PUBG's new map has had some loot tweaks as well, with assault rifles, SMGs and snipers spawn rates increased by five per cent compared to the fourth round of testing. Also, you can forget about 8x and 15x scopes on Sanhok, unless you dig into them care packages.
The new weapon, which you can see in action below, will only be replacing the SCAR-L on Sanhok and won't be included in the rest, at least for the time being. It's a 5.56mm assault rifle with a clip size of 30 bullets, upgradeable to 40. Note that the likelihood of QBZ95 spawning on Sanhok is 1.4 times that of SCAR-L during the map's testing phase.
Funnily enough, even though hordes of users are clamouring for individual map selection, PUBG Corp once again went their own, often peculiar direction by offering playlists. So, if you're in the mood for Sanhok, you can choose the Mini Royale playlist. If however you feel like picking Miramar, then you'll have to rely on luck by picking Battle Royale playlist. I don't even...
