PUBG's test server has a new update with Team Deathmatch and more

PUBG's Season 6 is now in full swing and the dev team has unleashed a new update onto the game's test server. Update 6.2 boasts a brand-new game mode - Team Deathmatch, some changes to grenades, updates to the Karakin map and its Blue Zone.

With PUBG's Season 6 now in full effect, the game's dev team has unleashed a new update onto the PUBG test server. There's a new game-mode: Team Deathmatch, PUBG Labs is returning with the next iteration of the Skill-Based Rating test and some throwables changes are on the way.

Team Deathmatch

You asked for it and here it is. The new 8v8 FPP mode will feature 7 different battlefields. TDM will also include respawns, classic PUBG gunplay and mechanics.

You'll fill your boost gauge by scoring assists and kills and your health will be restored after you haven't taken any damage for five seconds. 

You will win a round by scoring most kills after 10 minutes or by reaching 50 kills before the other team does. Win two rounds and you'll win the match.

  • FPP only
  • Weapon Spawn Kits
  • Respawns
  • No knockdowns
  • No friendly fire

You'll find TDM in the new Arcade section of the menu.

Grenade changes

Damage taken from a  frag grenade will now be mitigated by your vest and its durability won't be reduced when taking damage from frags. The damage mitigation will depend on the level of your vest though and it will have the same percentage reduction as for bullet damage.

Frags' weight has been increased by 50 per cent and each one will take up 27 inventory capacity, while it previously took up 18.

Smoke grenades will now go off sooner as their fuse time has been reduced to one second.

Stun grenades' indirect hit effect radius has been increased to 6.5m and the ringing sound it makes will now impact players through walls. Stuns now explode 0.7 sec after the first impact, or after fuse timer runs out, whichever comes first. Fuse time without cooking has been increased to 5 sec and the 2.5 second fuse timer when cooking the stun will stay the same.

Molotov cocktails' fire now spreads 50 per cent faster than usual and has an increased damage radius. Players in the fire will now take an additional 10 damage per second. Also, Molotov cocktails' fire now reaches higher and should be obstructed less by small objects.

Karakin Changes

There's going to be an updated loot setting that will increase meds, while reducing bandages, SRs, DMRs, and the Win94. A lot of PUBG players will be pleased to hear that the G36C and MP5K will be introduced to Karakin as well. The care package aeroplane will also move faster across the island. 

Adjusted Blue Zone effects:

  • Distortion effect has been removed
  • Altered effect where the Blue Zone meets the ground, to more clearly identify the Blue Zone edge
  • Lowered the top wall of the Blue Zone
  • Updated visual shaders
  • Effects will become more intense as phases progress
  • Changed sounds for entering and exiting the Blue Zone
  • Low volume humming sound can now be heard while within 10~15m from Blue Zone
    • This should help players identify when the Blue Zone is getting close
