Sony have unveiled the free games coming to PlayStation Plus in September and they're battle royale ace Playerunknown's Battlegrounds and Capcom's iconic fighter Street Fighter V.
"Chicken dinners and shoryukens are on the PS Plus menu this September. Take on 99 other competitors in PUBG: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or challenge the world’s greatest warriors to a scrap in beat ‘em up Street Fighter V", Sony wrote.
Both games have been around for a while and both are well worth a shot so let's dive in. If by some confused cosmic chance you failed to check out PUBG, it is the game that kicked of the battle royale craze and one of the prototypical examples of the genre.
Back when Fortnite was still in the concept phase, PUBG was the name of the game. Expect a more realistic type of battle royale experience.
Street Fighter V is the last instalment in Capcom's iconic franchise, and it also happens to be one of those franchises that shape a genre. There are more incentives to jumping into the fighting game though.
Starting September 4, 2020, residents of the US and Canada can compete in Street Fighter V for prizes including cash, unique PS4 themes and custom in-game titles.
Pubg and Street Fighter V will be available to PS Plus subscribers from September 1 to October 5.
The arrival of new games also means existing ones leaving, and this time Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout takes the fall together with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. The two will be available until August 31, so you still have a few days to say your goodbyes.
