Career mode and a bunch of other features from the priginal Project Cars are making a comeback in the sequel. Project Cars 2 will have a new mechanic in the form of the Manufacturer Drives. Project Cars 2 will launch on 22 September.
You remember the career mode from Project Cars? Well its going to return in the sequel, with a couple of added bells and whistles. Project Cars' singleplayer career mode now "spreads 29 motorsport types out over 6 Tiers and 5 unique disciplines".
As a player you'll be given a choice to race your way up through motorsports such as Karts, Formula Rookie or Ginetta Juniors, all the way to the very top echelons of real-world-based motorsport series such as IndyCar, and the GT3-based Pirelli World Challenge. You can also jump straight into more advanced Tiers to enjoy shorter careers.

The core of driver’s career in Project Cars 2 is the Tier system that has been fashioned to model that encountered by real-world drivers. "Drivers can choose to follow one motorsport discipline all the way from Tier 6 to Tier 1, or jump between the 5 disciplines and race in open-wheels, GT, prototypes, rallycross, and touring cars".
The Tier system also went through an overhaul, so it will encourage the players to try out all the new cars and . Each Motorsport Series in Project Cars 2 will now let the players choose between a full or a shortened calendar. Also, you'll be able to adjust the duration of each race, as well as choose to skip practice and qualifying sessions at the start of each weekend.

The contract-offer system is also making a return. The system has been tuned to give the drivers more choices with which team they sign up for as they advance through their careers. "Drivers now choose the car they want to drive in a specific series and they will be presented with the teams that have open seats in their desired car and series".
A new addition in the sequel is the Manufacturer Drives that sees 14 of the world’s most iconic auto manufacturers: Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin and more…invite drivers to take a series of challenger events. If you manage to rise to the challenge you might become a fully-fledged Factory Driver. "The events themselves are themed to represent classes that each manufacturer is known for, such as Nissan and its Historic Touring event, Group C prototype event and modern GT3".
Bandai Namco
Another feature making a comeback with a new coat of paint is the Invitational Events feature. Player's achievements let them unlock races separate from their normal career. "These voluntary events can now be entered at any time and drivers can play them as often as they want."
Also, you'll still be able to race for Trophies, Lifetime Goals and Accolades as you progress through your career. will be available on 22 September for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
