Slightly Mad Studio's Project Cars 2 will launch on Friday, 22 September. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
The sequel will have a large track roster, says the press release: "29 motorsport series featuring 180+ cars from dozens of elite brands, and four full seasons of grip-altering weather across 140 'living' tracks, Project Cars 2 brings home all the authenticity, beauty, and passion of racing action as never before."
To celebrate the release, we have the traditional publishing of the launch trailer. This one features "Silence", a track that has been hailed as one of the greatest Trance Anthems of all time. SIlence has now been revisited by Rhys Fulber, co-founder of the electronica band Delerium.
Fulber took the song's tempo down to 100 BPM to highlight Sarah McLachlan's vocals, and created a new cinematic techno dub remix of "Silence" to welcome Project Cars 2 into the world.
The motorsports I mentioned earlier include the likes of Karts, Formula Rookie or Ginetta Juniors, all the way to the very top echelons of real-world-based motorsport series such as IndyCar, and the GT3-based Pirelli World Challenge.
The live tracks in the game features something called "LiveTrack 3.0". It's a physic feature of the Madness engine described like this: "[a] dynamic racing track with grip & temperature changes, full rain simulation with puddling, water flow and track saturation, marbles & debris".
The press release had this to say about LiveTrack 3.0: "Ensures each track comes with 4 seasons of dynamic weather stunningly rendered, sublime day-to-night transitions, along with snow, rain, mist, wind, mud, gravel and more all affecting the 180-plus cars’ grip and handling, inch-by-inch, second-by-second".
