UPDATE: Sony have officially announced the State of Play for January 31, 2024, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM GMT.
Sony say the event will feature extended looks at Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin among other great updates.
The show will air on PlayStation's official YouTube and Twitch channels.
Original story: The announcement of a new State of Play seems to be imminent. Reliable insider Nick Baker who accurately predicted last year's State of Play and has a reliable track record has shared a cryptic message on social media X, seemingly confirming that State of Play is coming on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
Baker's post also includes the full list of games that will be revealed at the State of Play. According to his information, the show will include titles like Rise of the Ronin, Death Stranding 2, Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and more.
These are certainly titles that we expected to see at the Sony event as all of them are exclusive to PlayStation 5. The list also includes a couple of other interesting games, most notably Ken Levine's recently announced game Judas. Check out the full list below.
List of games that will be at the upcoming State of Play
Here's a full list of games that could reportedly be revealed at PlayStation State of Play later this week. Keep in mind that Sony are yet to officially announce State of Play.
- Rise of the Ronin
- Death Stranding 2
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- Sonic Generations Remaster
- Silent Hill 2
- Metro VR game
- Judas
- Until Dawn Remaster
All in all, this should be a pretty solid show for Sony. That's plenty of exclusives, scheduled to launch this year, as well as some very intriguing titles like Judas and Metro VR. While Sony's first-party output seems to be lacking in 2024, the publisher have done a great job to compensate with strong third-party exclusivity deals.
Such deals have been something that Sony have strongly focused on lately, making sure that the biggest hits skip Xbox consoles. Whether or not some of these games come to Xbox at a later date, it remains to be seen.
