PlayerUnknown, or simply Brendan Greene, says a PlayStation 4 version isn't out of the question. However he and the team want to catch up with Xbox One and PC versions, as battle royale titles are growing in numbers almost by the minute.

PUBG landed in our arms a buggy and unfinished mess and whether it's on PC or Xbox One, it's still an unfinished mess with a console prefix. Recently, Brendan Greene, PlayerUnknown himself, stated that a PlayStation 4 version isn't out of the question at a later date, but the company wishes to focus on the two existing versions first.

Rumours of a PlayStation 4 port have been surfacing, but in the end PUBG head honcho decided to shut them down. Seeing as they have a sort of console exclusivity clause with Microsoft, it's unlikely that they would be allowed to make a game for their competition.

Greene spoke about their plans for the next few months as well, stating that more work will be put into the Xbox One version in order to catch up with PC. One must wonder what a finished PUBG product looks like.

On the other hand, the team is working on a new map which they claim to be faster and more brutal. The map is codenamed Savage for now, but that might be a tentative name. The second for the map is live now.

PUBG is a successful game economically, but the launch was horrifyingly buggy and jagged. Things have improved in the past year, but not so much as to say it's to be praised as the second coming. The battle royale genre is driving a very narrow road, and who can tell when they'll all come flying off.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds launched its beta period on 23 March 2017, and fully released on 20 December 2017. While Fortnite seems to be scooping up a lot of PUBG's playerbase lately, it still stands as a massively popular title with a huge player base.
