Some Steam users have started to report weird issues with Konami's football simulation. Apparently, Data Pack 3.0 update has turned the full version of PES 2020 into a stripped-down LITE edition, which was announced just yesterday.
Today, Data Pack 3.0 update arrived to PES 2020 on all platforms, adding a fresh batch of content, including new stadiums, kit updates, player faces and more. However, all these additions are overshadowed by a major issue that has appeared on the PC version.
Over at WEPES subreddit , players report that after they've downloaded and installed Data Pack 3.0, the full version of PES 2020 has suddenly become a LITE version, which was officially announced yesterday by Konami.
Players on Steam are equally frustrated with Konami, reporting the same issue. "My game got a 1gb update and after the update, the full version turns into Lite version and now I can't play the BAL and ML anymore," one Steam user wrote and added that he bought the full version and has been playing it ever since. "I paid and was playing the full version all these days," he concluded.
eFootball PES 2020 LITE is basically a stripped-down version of the full game, offering only myClub mode. Konami officially confirmed the release date for next week but by the looks of it, it arrived a bit earlier for some players.
At the moment, it is unknown what exactly is causing this issue but it's safe to say it's a pretty embarrassing situation for Konami. Some players are even joking that they've had the Lite the version this whole time, taking a dig at the lack of content in PES 2020.
Konami are yet to respond to this problem and until they do, we suggest you pause the update and wait for the different version or a fix for the issue. They may also throw some free GP/coins your way as an apology for the inconvenience.
