Grinding Gear Games have confirmed that Path of Exile PlayStation 4 version will be delayed to mid-March 2019 as they posted a tweet reminding the fans that their previous announcement included estimates and not exact launch dates.

PlayStation 4 version of Path of Exile was announced back in November 2018 and was supposed to be released about a month later, in December. It was then delayed, where Grinding Gear Games stated it would come in "early February 2019" but this didn't turn out to be the case either.

Since the developers are calling the previous announcement an estimate so technically, this was not a delay but it means little to the fans who are waiting. On the bright side, Grinding Gear Games are now close enough into the development that they can project release dates with more accuracy .

Therefore, 19 February 2019 will have the official expansion announcement, which will launch on 08 March 2019 for PC. It will launch three days later, on 11 March 2019 for Xbox One and finally at some point in mid-March 2019 for PlayStation 4. There is still no precise date for PS4 though.

With the amount of new content Grinding Gear Games constantly add to Path of Exile, it is no wonder a release gets delayed from time to time. While the situation is not ideal for PlayStation 4 owners, it is still way better than paying a full AAA price for a shooter game and then wait a few months until its battle royale gets released.

Meanwhile, Path of Exile is not exactly a demanding game when it comes to PC requirements and since pretty much everyone owns some sort of a PC in their household these days, fans who are anxious to give it a shot on PS4 can actually do so first on PC.

Path of Exile is a free to play game, so there is no entry barrier. Considering that mid-March date range is less than a month away from the time of writing, it is safe to say that Grinding Gear Games are not going to postpone the launch once again.
