Netflix revealed the release date of The Witcher TV series. In a post on Twitter, Netflix posted round-up of how many days there are remaining until certain shows arrive and The Witcher is at 97 days, meaning it's coming on 17 December.
Netflix's The Witcher has been one of the most anticipated TV series of the year. As you may know, Henry Cavill is taking the role of Geralt and the show will primarily focus on the books.
One detail that Netflix are yet to reveal is when exactly is The Witcher coming to the streaming service. Earlier, the showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich said that the team is working hard to wrap it up before 2020 and Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos also confirmed that the series will premier on Netflix in Q4 2019.
Today, we finally have a release date thanks to a leak that can also be seen as an official confirmation. On their social media, Netflix posted a round-up of how many days are left until some of the most anticipated series and films drop on the streaming service.
As you can see from the screenshot below, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is landing in 30 days as of yesterday - 11 September 2019, which is indeed true. The Witcher is scheduled to release in 97 days which translates to Tuesday, 17 December 2019.
Of course, the post has been quickly deleted by the page admins but not before the internet made a screenshot. While this certainly seems like a legit scheduled for the release of Netflix's new series and films, it's still not an official confirmation so we'll have to wait a bit longer for that. It's also possible that Netflix reveal the release date in the next few days since it's already leaked.
Many would also say that Tuesday is not the best day to premiere such a huge series but Stranger Things Season 3 premiered on Thursday so everything is possible as Netflix obviously don't care about on what day the series will release.
