Today, Cold Symmetry and Playstack announced their brand new game named Mortal Shell. It is a new souls-like action RPG that is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2020.
Souls-like games have become increasingly popular over the last few years mainly thanks to From Software's amazing Dark Souls series, Bloodborne and Sekiro. Other developers and publishers also adopted the souls-like gameplay concept so we got Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cold Vein, The Surge and many other games.
Today, we have a brand new one that looks like something that just came out of From Software's kitchen. Named Mortal Shell, it is a brand new action-RPG from Cold Symmetry and Playstack, coming sometime this year to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out the reveal trailer above.
Mortal Shell is described as a deep action-RPG that tests your sanity and resilience in a shattered world. It features "strategic and unforgiving" combat with creatures both "pitiable and grotesque".
Based on the trailer and screenshots, the game certainly looks spectacular with its dark vibe. We also got to see various locations - from snowy mountains to deep underground dungeons filled with the undead.
Mortal Shell does not have a specific release date just yet but it should arrive sometime in Q3 2020. Let's hope it does not arrive in the same week as From Software's Elden Ring.
