Nintendo fulfilled the wishes of many-a-fan when they announced Metroid Dread, a new entry in the series that is coming to Nintendo Switch sooner than you might expect it.
Metroid Dread is set for release on 10/8/2021, as presented on the Nintendo Direct which is embedded below. Now, that particular date can be either 10th of August or 8th of October, depending on your date format but the one in August falls on a Tuesday, meaning it is more likely of the two.
The game will feature new threats, including a robot that proved extremely hard for Samus to destroy. In fact, she didn't even manage to do it during the trailer so it's possible this is an enemy you will just have to avoid, at least for a while.
One of the ways to do it was shown to be a camouflage ability that made our heroine invisible to the shapeshifting robot, which just proceeded to ignore her and move on its own merry way.
Other than that, not much was revealed about the game but the gameplay is likely going to be enough to keep the hype up for two or four months until the game officially releases.
