Niantic has detailed the upcoming Bug Out! event in Pokemon Go where several creatures are making a debut, along with Mega Scizor.
One thing about summer that most people don't like are the bugs that keep pestering everyone but Niantic sought to turn their existence into an event to engage Pokemon Go players in the upcoming The Bug Out! event that will see several debuts. The Bug Out! starts on August 10 at 10:00 AM local time and will end on August 16, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time.
Gurbbin, Charjabug and Vikavolt will debut during the event. Mind you, these are all basically one creature that keeps evolving. In order to get Charjabug, you will need 25 Grubbin Candy in order to evolve it. Similarly, you will need 100 Grubbin Candy to evolve Charrjabug into Vikavolt while standing close to an active Magnetic Lure Module.
Mega Scizor will make its own debut in Mega Raids and lucky trainers might encounter a Shiny one.
Trainers can also get the Bug Catcher Pose and 15,000 XP by completing the Collection Challenge that features Bug-type Pokemon. If you don't obtain it during that time, you will be able to purchase it after the event ends. Additionally, trainers will get double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice, Great and Excellent throws.
If several trainers join an in-person Raid, they will have a higher chance of encountering:
- August 10: Wurmple
- August 11: Caterpie
- August 12: Spinarak
- August 13: Venipede
- August 14: Kricketot
- August 15: Weedle
- August 16: Ledyba
Wild encounters during the event:
- One-star raids
- Two-Star Raids
- Five-Star Raids
- Genesect (Chill Drive)
- Mega Raids
- Mega Scizor*
Field Research task encounters:
- Plant Cloak Burmy*
- Sand Cloak Burmy*
- Trash Cloak Burmy*
Pokemon marked with the star can appear as Shiny for the lucky trainers.
