The new Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer showcases some of the environments the game will be taking place in. The planets targeted for colonisation are designated as Golden Worlds.
The job of the pathfinders in this scenario will be to scout these worlds, exterminate the indigenous population and prepare the planet for mass resource excavation. At least we hope that will be one of the options available. But the chances of that being in the game at this point is slightly below zero - political correctness and all.
It will still be interesting to see how Andromeda handles the moral and ethical implications of trans-galactic migration and how much of the diplomacy will be carried out at gunpoint. What? You think BioWare will shy away from the heavy questions and focus on sexy interpersonal soap-opera dynamics for its drama? You don't say.
