Season 4 is coming to Marvel Rivals, and there’s a lot of new content and balance changes to look forward to. New maps, Arcade Mode content, and Team-Up balancing are all making a return, which is in addition to revealing Angela as the next playable character.
New buffs and nerfs will also shake up the meta in Marvel Rivals, while limited-time content like swimsuit costumes and more provides even more incentive to keep playing. While most of these announcements are already live in Marvel Rivals Season 4: Heart of the Dragon, a notable exception is the game is now coming to PlayStation 4.
Marvel Rivals is finally coming to even more players around the world, with the next-gen PC version launching on June 24 and the PS4 version launching in Q3 of 2024. All in all, Season 4 looks like it will be a huge expansion to Marvel Rivals, with content and updates that every player is bound to enjoy. Angela Joins Marvel Rivals
Angela, the Asgardian assassin and sister of Thor, joins the roster as a Vanguard role character. Wielding living fluid called Ichors, Angela can summon various weapons, including:
- Spear – For diving onto enemies.
- Shield – To block incoming attacks.
- Dual Axes – For dishing out devastating close-range damage.
Team-Up Adjustments
Season 4 shakes up the Team-Up system with new additions, removals, and member swaps:
- NEW: Divine Armory (Angela + Thor).
- REMOVED: Dimensional Shortcut (Magik + Black Panther).
- ADDED: Magik joins Arcane Order (with Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch).
- ADDED: Black Panther joins Gamma Charge (with Hulk, Namor).

Heart of Heaven – New Map
Launching on September 25, the Heart of Heaven map transports players to the legendary city of K’un-Lun, providing a new battleground for Convergence.
Arcade Mode Hub Updates
Arcade Mode expands in Season 4 with more variety and flexibility:
- Returning Modes: Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast (now permanent).
New Modes:
- Free Fight – No restrictions on duplicate heroes.
- Conquest (Annihilation) – Score points through KOs.
Players can queue for specific modes or multiple modes simultaneously within the hub.
Summer Special Vol. 2
Arriving on September 18, Summer Special Vol. 2 introduces new swimsuit costumes for:
- The Punisher
- The Thing
- The Invisible Woman
- Mantis
- An Event Pass, similar to Volume 1, is expected but not yet confirmed.
Other Notable Changes
Additional improvements and features include:
- Global Ultimate VFX customization (toggleable).
- New Accessories for Magneto, Cloak & Dagger, Scarlet Witch, and Luna Snow.
- Favorites bar for faster hero selection.
- Hero slow-walk support added to PC.
- Gallery Card download feature.
- Customizable chat text-color and animated emojis (September 18).
