Marvel Rivals is about to explode when the battle royale game’s Season 3 update drops later this month. The hero shooter from NetEase Games is adding two heroes in Season 3: Jean Grey and Blade, two fan favorites from Marvel lore.
Season 3 is set to launch on July 11, after the Season 2.5 update ends. Jean Grey is coming at launch, but Blade will debut later in the season during a mid-season update. Both heroes are Duelists, a class archetype that excels in burst, high-damage fights.
NetEase is also introducing a new map, which is based on the Klyntar, the planet symbiotes are from. This is likely a nod to the introduction of Knull, a god of darkness and symbiotes’ progenitor, who we can expect to see in Season 3.

More Cosmetics Coming July 3
Before Season 3 begins, players can grab two new hero skins on July 3 at 7 PM PDT:
- Spider-Man – Future Foundation Skin (inspired by Fantastic Four)
- Captain America – Captain Klyntar Skin (from Edge of Venomverse)
Marvel Rivals has been adept at weaving new story beats into each of its Seasonal content updates, and the new one is no exception. Jean Grey, Blade, and a symbiote-laden map are only a few of the character and in-game world connections to comic lore that Rivals seamlessly translates into great video game assets.
Gamers that have been playing Marvel Rivals since launch are familiar with its battle pass content, but the Season 3 update will slightly alter it to cut the game’s seasonal content updates to a two-month duration.
