The official Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel recently released a trailer unveiling Marvel Games' latest project, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. Set during World War II, the game promises an action-packed adventure featuring iconic Marvel characters alongside new additions.
The trailer provides a glimpse into the narrative of the forthcoming action-adventure title, slated for release sometime in 2025. While lacking actual gameplay footage, the game is described as an action-adventure featuring four playable characters: Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America; Azzuri, T'Challa's grandfather and a former Black Panther during World War II; American soldier Gabriel Jones; and Wakandan spy Nanali.
The development of the game will be spearheaded by Skydance New Media, a new studio led by Amy Hennig, who previously worked at EA and Naughty Dog, among other renowned studios.
“In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy,” Skydance New Media reported. “Fighting alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos and Nanali, a Wakandan spy embedded in Occupied Paris, they must join forces to stop a sinister plot that threatens to turn the havoc of WWII into the ultimate rise of Hydra.”
The trailer suggests an impressive presentation with highly detailed character models, featuring unique designs distinct from those in the movies. While the platforms for the game's release have not been disclosed, it's anticipated that the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. What is confirmed is that the game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5.
