Vice President of Product Development at PlayStation Connie Booth has left the company, it's claimed by former PlayStation developer David Scott Jaffe.
Jaffe states that according to his best sources, Booth is no longer at Sony. Jaffe does not know if Booth was fired or laid off for certain but he states that she is being replaced by Angie Smets from Guerrilla Games.
"I don't know if she was fired, laid off, if her whole team left," Jaffe said in his video. "She's been replaced by Angie Smets from Guerilla software"
Jaffe speculates that Booth could be taking a break on her own after spending three decades in the gaming industry or it's more controversial than that and Sony axed her.
Booth worked on various PlayStation Games including The Last of Us, Marvel's Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank and many, many other beloved titles that Sony's first-party studios released over the last two decades.
If true, this will certainly going to be a significant loss for Sony as Booth obviously had invaluable experience and knowledge that helped ship all these great games for PlayStation.
As always with rumours and leaks, we suggest you take this with a dose of scepticism until we get an official confirmation. According to Jaffe, the news should be released very soon, specifically today or tomorrow.
