The last top lane champion Riot Games added to League of Legends was Gwen, a top lane skirmisher. She is a far cry from what the top lane archetype is, and the new champion coming to League of Legends may fulfill it, finally.
That champion is K'Sante and, if the release of the teaser and gameplay trailer is anything to go by, it should be going live soon.
The abilities shown in the video show us a simple champion, in one form, who is then made more interesting with the addition of his second form.
- Q - Seems to be a low cooldown ability, that smacks the ground in front of you. Its enhanced effect will knock enemies up and toward you also stunning them.
- W - Seems like a charge-up ability, with an AoE knock back of sorts, and perhaps a mechanic like Amokai's Bramble Smash when it comes to walls. It may also provide CC immunity, as can be seen from the Sett utlimate.
- E - Dash with a shield
- R - Either dash in a line dragging enemies with you or knocking back enemies and then following them similar to the Lee Sin R+Q combo, and perhaps resetting the rest of his abilities.
In addition, it would appear that his R lowers his maximum health, if the health bar in the video is to be believed, though if that gives other benefits, they are still uncertain.
All in all, it would appear that we've gained a valuable top lane pick with K'Sante. The only question is, how well will he be balanced, as hybrid champions are usually either overpowered or weak in the meta.
