Kim Hyuk-kyu, better known as Deft, is a South Korean professional League of Legends player who won Riot's World Championship 2022, with DRX.
After reaching the semifinals, much less winning the title, DRX made history as the first team to do so from the play-ins.
Now, however, it seems that DRX, after winning their first-ever League of Legends World Championship, their luck is coming to an end.
After all, the team that made it happen just so happens to have their contracts expire this very year, and none of them seem to be staying at DRX.
Deft is no different, and when asked if he will compete next year, after his victory, his answer was: "How I feel right now is that if I can play next year, then I’m going to play."
Well, with DWG Kia, the World Champions 2020, this veteran League of Legends professional player will have an opportunity to play at least one more season.
Will Deft turn the tables on his fate, and win another World Championship before his career ends? Well, with this team he might just get the chance to do so, and once again face his former schoolmate Faker on the Summoner's Rift.
