Karmine Corp, formerly known as Kameto Corp, have been looking at their options for joining League of Legends European Championship for a while now, especially after their longtime rivals, KOI, did so.
Unlike KOI, however, Kcorp is looking to join LEC by buying an entire spot for themselves, rather than merging with an existing organisation, like KOI did with Rogue.
Riot Games didn't make an official statement yet as the talks are still going on but it appears that Karmine Corp has Astralis' spot in their sights.
This doesn't come as much of a surprise since the two organisations already talked business in the past year but Karmine Corp didn't get into LEC in the end.
According to LEC Wooloo, the talks went much further this time around and it seems like the deal is all but official. However, KCorp will be presented with multiple issues here.
First, there is the matter of organising their own events, which is something that LEC doesn't usually allow due to franchising. This has been a large part of KCorp's image thus far and it remains to be seen how they will solve it, should the organisation come to LEC.
Additionally, LEC recently changed the rules to not allow anyone under 18 to be active on a roster. This presents a problem with KCorp's new star player, Caliste, who is only 17. If the organisation entered the competition in the next season, they would have to do so without their main marksman, who would only be able to hop on after turning 18.
