The League of Legends World Championship, also known as Worlds, is a prestigious esports competition that will be held in South Korea later this year. It has been a global event since Riot Games introduced it in 2011, with various countries hosting the tournament. In 2023, it returns to South Korea, which previously hosted the event in 2014 and 2018.
The tournament will take place across four different locations in South Korea, starting from October 10 and ending on November 19. The initial stages will be held in Seoul's LoL Park and the KBS Arena. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will take place at Busan's Sajik Indoor Gymnasium, while the championship match will be held in Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome.
The tournament will feature 22 teams from around the world. It will begin with the Play-In Stage, where lower-ranked teams compete for two slots in the Swiss Stage. They will join the 14 seeded teams from major regions such as VCS, PCS, LLA, CBLOL, LJL, LEC, and LCS.
Before Worlds 2023, the Worlds Qualifying Series (WQS) will be held, involving the fourth seed from the LCS and LEC. The winner of this cross-regional encounter will secure the last Play-In Stage spot.
Tickets for Worlds 2023 are already on sale through Global Interpark. They are being sold in three waves, corresponding to the different stages of the tournament.
As the event will take place in four different cities, purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. Overall, the League of Legends World Championship 2023 promises to be an exciting and highly competitive tournament, showcasing the skills of teams from various regions.
