League of Legends' lead gameplay designer, Mark Yetter, revealed some new balance targets for the upcoming 10.9 patch. The specific changes aren't out yet, but we have a brief overview of what the new patch might be including.
Champions that will receive buffs this patch include:
- Kayn
- Lissandra
- Fiddlesticks
- Quinn
- Gnar
- Cho'Gath
Depending on how impactful they're going to be, the Cho'Gath buffs could make him one of the strongest picks for the top lane, considering the fact that he was already played in some professional games.
Kayn has seen some buffs to his orb gain two patches ago but they didn't prove to be as strong as they seemed at first, so Riot might be looking to redeem themselves in 10.9.
The list of champions that will receive nerfs this patch is as follows:
- Wukong
- Karthus
- Trundle
- Nami
- Bard
After being one of the strongest champions in mid, top and jungle, Wukong will get nerfed once again. The list revealed that the change will be targeting his power in Platinum and the ranks above. Trundle has been a very safe pick across all of the ranks and the fact that he's getting tuned down doesn't come as a surprise.
It seems as though the balance team is finally satisfied with the current AD carry meta since, after a long time, there aren't as many marksmen changes mentioned apart from Quinn, who to be fair is used more as a counter-pick in the top lane rather than an ADC.
