As the MSI 2023 event draws near, several teams have already secured their place in the tournament. With the tournament featuring a new format and more teams from major regions, the competition is expected to be fierce.

The upcoming major event for League of Legends in 2023 is the MSI tournament, which will take place in the UK. Regional tournaments have been taking place around the world to determine which teams will participate in the MSI.

The LEC has already completed their Winter Split and is preparing for the Spring Split playoffs, while other major leagues such as the LCK and LPL are nearing the end of their Spring Split. The MSI 2023 tournament will feature a new format and the release of the Inkshadow skin line. The list of qualified teams for the MSI tournament and their regional qualification status is provided below.

The format of the MSI 2023 tournament has been altered to include more best-of-series matches and double elimination. As a result, the number of teams participating from major regions has increased compared to the previous year's MSI 2022 event.

MSI 2023 qualifications

To summarize, the MSI 2023 tournament will consist of 13 teams from different regions. The distribution of spots eligible for the tournament is as follows:

  • 2 from LCK (Korea)
  • 2 from LPL (China)
  • 2 from LEC (Europe)
  • 2 from LCS (North America)
  • 1 from VCS (Vietnam)
  • 1 from PCS (South East Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Oceania)
  • 1 from CBLOL (Brazil)
  • 1 from LJL (Japan)
  • 1 from LLA (Latin America)

So far, three teams have secured their spot at the MSI 2023:

  • T1 from Korea(LCK)
  • G2 from Europe (LEC)
  • Cloud9 from North America (LCS)

Due to the disbanding of the TCL and the merging of the OCE playoffs to PCS, there are fewer teams available for the MSI 2023 tournament, but higher-quality teams will be participating.

The tournament will be divided into two stages: Play-Ins and Brackets. Five out of the 13 teams will automatically qualify for the Brackets Stage, while the remaining teams will compete in the Play-Ins to qualify for the Brackets Stage.
