Kingdom Come: Deliverance coming to switch

Kingdom Come: Deliverance has arrived some two days ago and reviews are trickling in. So far, it seems the game is almost everything it was cracked up to be, even though graphics issues are aplenty and the save system, even though inventive, doesn't seem to be practical.

The game, as you may already know, follows blacksmith Henry, whose village ends up being destroyed and his family slain. What follows is apparently an extremely accurate simulation of life in the Kingdom of Bohemia over an incredibly immersive world.

Pretty much all the reviewers praised the game's depth, as your in game activities heavily dictate who you are and what you do. We're talking hangovers, food poisoning and the devs even went as far as to make sure smelling has an effect on your social life.

Everyone from IGN to your uncle's second nephew on the mother's side agrees that the combat is just amazing. It's very realistic, as well as difficult, encouraging players to think twice before just rushing into combat.

that while the game tells the story in a grand manner, the story itself is somewhat lacking, even though . RPS' gripes with the save system are legitimate as well, although we drew the line at some ridiculous comments about sexism in the game. Seriously, here too?

The save system requires players to sleep, reach milestones or buy or brew Saviour Schnapps in order to save progress. Clever? Most certainly. Practical? Not really, although the devs DID go for a high degree of realism. Drinking helps apparently. Yes in real life.

Most reviewers agree on one thing though, which seems to be the main downside to the game - performance leaves a lot to be desired. Even with the meanest of rigs, Kingdom Come will still glitch, with missing graphics and in some cases, even crashing. How does that save sound now? Didn't think so.

, with 7.6 user score, which seems about right for the time being. Most other reviews seem to put it at around 8/10, with a few occasional bad marks for more serious graphics glitching.

It seems like there's much work to be done, despite , but the game packs more than enough potential to ensure a bright future. In fact, Warhorse already reacted and said they're thinking about a save on quit and some other improvements, but we'll know more at a later date.
