Kalypso Media have delayed Tropico 6 once again and this time around it's for an additional two months. The new release date is 29 March 2019 and the delay has apparently been caused by troubling feedback following closed beta testing.

Kalypso Media have decided to delay Tropico 6 once again, just a couple of weeks before the planned release. The game is now pushed back to late March as players who participated in the closed beta voiced a number of concerns and suggestions that ultimately led to the delay.

In an open letter to Tropico community, Simon Hellwig, Managing Director of Kalypso Media said that he tried the game and thinks that Tropico 6 should strive to be an outstanding game which trully loved and not only liked by the community.

"I have played Tropico 6 for many hours and really liked what I saw. But, in my humble opinion, it is not enough to like a game – I want to love it! And Tropico 6 is good, but not very good, or outstanding," Hellwig wrote in his letter.

He explained that he combined his own opinion and the response from thousands of players to decide that it's best to delay the game in order to provide a proper Tropico experience. Many features which were requested by players after the closed beta will require some time to implement, and while some of them are already there, additional balancing, testing and enhancements are still needed.

As an apology for another delay, Kalypso Media will give the first DLC for free to those who pre-order the game until 10 January 2019. It may sound tempting to some Tropico fans, but you know our thoughts on these things - wait for reviews.

Tropico 6 was originally set for a 2018 release but the developer delayed the game last summer to January 2019. Hopefully, 29 March 2019 will be its last stop.

As for the console version, there is no mention of it in Hellwig's letter. Even before the delay, Kalypso Media refused to share any specific dates and it's safe to assume that PS4 and Xbox One players will have to wait a bit longer before the developer cones up with an exact date.
