IO Interactive's developer explained the deal on ResetEra, just in case you needed more encouragement to complete Agent 47's trilogy.
"One thing I think all of you will be happy to hear is that we have managed to get the size of the game down significantly. All three games with all content will take up around 100GB", he wrote.
The discussion itself centred on Hitman 3's implementation of ray tracing, which makes Agent 47's bald noggin look like the shiniest of diamonds. We know it's strange hearing ourselves profess love for a hairless head, but this is one of our favourite hairless heads ever.
GameInformer recently showed the first five minutes of Hitman 3's opening mission, the one in Dubai, and the players quickly noticed some sweet reflectiveness of display. One user suggested they're merely the plane reflections they used in the previous games, but it turns out it wasn't.
"Nope! We upgraded the engine with screenspace reflections. Best thing? It's backwards compatible with the previous two games in the trilogy and lots of surfaces has been upgraded. It's pretty stunning I gotta say", the dev replied.
We've been droning on about this level ever since we've seen Agent 47 walk above the clouds in one of the previews, and we're certainly excited to see whether Hitman 3 is indeed the love letter to the fans that IO Interactive insist it will be.
That said, the Epic Games exclusivity means that there's an additional waiting period before all of the above applies to those who bought the first two games on Steam.
