Limited Run Games has partnered with Krafton to bring Hi-Fi Rush to physical media for the first time, announcing three editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Pre-orders open January 16 and run through March 1, 2026, exclusively through Limited Run Games' website.
The physical releases celebrate the game's expressive soundtrack, colourful aesthetic, and beloved characters. Three editions cater to different collector preferences, with the top-tier Project Armstrong Edition priced at $174.99 featuring premium items based on tutorial robot Smidge and metronomic cat companion 808.
The Rhythm Edition ($39.99) provides the standard physical release including game media, cover art, booklet, and three DLC costume packs with additional character skins. The Smidge Edition ($69.99) adds a three-disc soundtrack CD with developer liner notes and a collector's box featuring Smidge's design.
The Project Armstrong Edition ($174.99) includes everything from lower tiers plus an eight-inch 808 cat plush, a miniature replica of protagonist Chai's guitar, a 90+ page hardcover art book, Chai's Project Armstrong card pass replica, a glow-in-the-dark jumbo spinning MP3 player pin badge, and an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.
Limited Run Games specialises in premium physical releases of digital-only titles, typically producing limited quantities sold during specific pre-order windows. The four-and-a-half week pre-order period allows fans to secure their preferred edition before production begins.
Hi-Fi Rush originally launched as a surprise shadow drop during Microsoft's Developer Direct showcase in January 2023. The game was developed by Tango Gameworks before Microsoft closed the studio in 2024, with Krafton subsequently acquiring the IP and development team.
