Crystal Dynamics' senior brand director Rich Briggs has confirmed that players will need to invest around 30 hours to beat Marvel's Avengers' campaign.
Crystal Dynamics action-adventure Marvel's Avengers is coming early next year, and in the last couple of months, we got many interesting details about the game along with some gameplay footage from the game's opening sequence.
As you may know, Marvel's Avengers is mainly a single-player game with a proper main story that will put players in the boots of Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk and Thor and today, we have the first hint at how long the main campaign will be.
In an interview with Comicbook, Crystal Dynamics' senior brand director Rich Briggs talked about the game's story and how much time players will have to spend with the Avengers in order to complete the main campaign. He compared the game to another Crystal Dynamics' action-adventure - 2013's Tomb Raider - and said that "if you want to see everything" there is to see in the upcoming superhero title, you'll have to spend around 30 hours playing the game.
However, if you're looking to complete only the campaign, or the core story how Briggs calls it, you'll probably need around 10 to 12 hours.
Here's how Briggs explained it: "I think it'll depend on exactly how deep you want to go into it, so if you think about previous Crystal games, you know that if you want to be playing your way through the core story, it's going to be in that area, 10 to 12 hours."
Furthermore, he continued by saying that this is just a rough estimate and this is without taking the extended narrative or extended gameplay into account. "So we're not putting exact numbers on it just yet, but you can expect something comparable to what we've done in the past with that regard," Briggs explained.
All in all, it looks like Marvel's Avengers won't be one of those six-hour stories, which we usually get from film adaptations. Hopefully, Marvel's Avengers' 10 to 12 hours will also be fun and worth our time.
