Halo Infinite's multiplayer mode beta and Season One have been available less than 24 hours and the game has already attracted a bunch of fans who couldn't wait to jump into the fray.

343 Industries surprised everyone and dropped Halo Infinite's multiplayer beta and Season One a whole three weeks ahead of schedule. The fans on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC reacted by downloading the game en masse, as fast as their internet connection would let them. This was a great move on 343 Industries' part as it will give the players time to savour the multiplayer aspect of the title and then enjoy the single-player campaign without fear of missing out once that launches on December 8, 2021.

According to Steam DB, those internet connections are fast and people will pencil in sleep for the next weekend or something as Halo Infinite attracted 272,586 players at one point during the last seven hours (at the time of writing). The current situation is that the game's all-time peak player number sits at over a quarter of a million players and Steam DB informs us that 72,705 Spartans are locked in multiplayer mayhem as we speak.

Halo Infinite currently has the "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam, with over 7,500 players (around 73 per cent) liking 343 Industries' game so far.

Halo Infinite's multiplayer mode and Season One are now available for free on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Halo Infinite's Season One content includes all maps, core modes, Academy features, and Battle Pass and progress made during the beta will carry over when Halo Infinite fully launches on December 8.
