343 Industries' long-awaited continuation of Master Chief's story is launching without pre-loads. Halo Infinite will go live at 18:00 GMT later today (December 8).
Halo Infinite is slowly inching towards its scheduled release and we now have an approximation of just how much space we'll need to clear out in order to download and play Halo Infinite's Campaign. Halo Support's official Twitter account shared some not-so-scary numbers with the disclaimer that the download sizes may vary by platform.
Halo Infinite Campaign install sizes
Starting fresh - there are no existing Halo Infinite installation files on your platform of choice:
- Installing Multiplayer only: approximately 26.53 GB
- Installing both Multiplayer and Campaign: around 48.42 GM
Upgrading - Halo Infinite's Multiplayer Beta is already installed:
- Multiplayer update only: 3.97 GB
- Campaign installation: additional download of approximately 25.86 GB
- Total for both downloads: about 29.83 GB total
Halo Infinite's Campaign will launch on December 8 at 18:00 GMT (10:00 AM PT / December 9 at 2:00 AM CST). There will, sadly, be no pre-loads available. Installing the Multiplayer ahead of time wouldn't help things immensely as there will be an update for that mode on top of the Campaign installation itself.
Halo Infinite's Campaign portion will also launch without any additional game modes. This was also bemoaned in the replies to the official download size tweet but we know that the powers that be are currently working on bringing three additional playlists to the game until the year is out. This will give the players enough time to finish up the Campaign before diving into the new Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (SWAT), and Free-For-All playlists.
