Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is coming to Android devices on 24 March 2020, CD Projekt Red officially announced. Pre-registrations are now open on Google Play Store.
The creators of The Witcher series, CD Projekt Red have officially announced a release date for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game on Android devices. The game will finally launch on Tuesday, 24 March 2020.
Of course, the game will be completely free-to-play, just like previous versions which released on PC and iOS. To celebrate the release, CD Projekt Red released a new trailer, showcasing some of cards and gameplay. Check it out below.
If you cannot wait to try out Gwent on Android, you will be happy to hear that pre-registration for the game is now available on Google Play. Pre-registration gets you the unique Imperial Golem avatar, which will be added to your collection immediately upon installing and logging into Gwent on your Android-based phone or tablet. The Android release comes with controls reimagined for touch interfaces and crossplay feature, which will allow players to play with users on PC and iOS as well as share progress via their GOG client.
For those who are unfamiliar with the game, Gwent features fast-paced duels, which are played over a best-of-three series of rounds. Before the match, players get to carefully construct their decks from several factions from The Witcher universe including Monsters, Nilfgaardians and more. Players can use several card types to outsmart their opponents and ultimately take the win.
Gwent is currently available on PC and iOS.
