Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy won't require a hefty chunk of your storage space, after all, the development team announced via the game's official social media channels. We reported earlier this week that the game would require at least 150 GB of storage space, which is a quite significant file size for a single-player game of the action-adventure genre.
However, it seems that the developer Eidos have managed to optimise the final build of the game and reduce the file size to only 80 GB, which is quite a drop. Here's the official announcement from the team:
"We wanted to give you an update on the final size of the PC version of the game, which will not be 150 GB. The team is in the last stages of optimizing the final game and we can confirm the file size will be approximately 80 GB at launch."
This is, of course, a welcomed file size optimisation especially for those players who have a lot of installed games and are always struggling for free storage space on their consoles or PC.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is officially hitting the shelves on October 26, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S platforms. For more about the game, check out the official PC system requirements but ignore the storage space part.
