The release of Cayo Perico Heist for Grand Theft Auto Online resulted in the game's highest monthly digital earnings ever. Player numbers also grew 46 per cent from November 2020.
Grand Theft Auto fans are craving for more details about Grand Theft Auto VI, a brand new installment in the mega-popular franchise but it seems that it will probably take a while before Rockstar officially announce the game and the reason for that is in the massive success of GTA Online, which is still breaking records.
According to the latest report from Superdata Research, GTA V just recorded its highest monthly digital earnings ever, all thanks to the latest update named Cayo Perico Heist.
"The release of the Cayo Perico Heist for Grand Theft Auto V resulted in the game’s highest monthly digital earnings ever," Superdata games market report states.
This Cayo Perico Heist update marked the first time the seven-year-old title received a brand new open-world area for players to explore so it's not that surprising the results mentioned above.
Additionally, the player numbers skyrocketed 46 per cent from November 2020 but as expected the levels did not exceed totals achieved earlier in 2020, when GTA V was available for free on Epic Games Store.
