As 2022 came to a conclusion, the last week of the year's results for the UK Boxed Charts are in, and God of War: Ragnarök is at the top of the list.
God of War: Ragnarök is one of the top games in 2022, and its popularity is backed up by sales figures. The sequel to God of War 2018 was one of the most anticipated games of 2022, and it never slipped out of the top five most-sold titles in the UK after its release on November 9, 2022.
The latest God of War had tremendous sales success during the holidays, helped by a PlayStation 5 hardware bundle. Only FIFA 23 had better sales results during Christmas week. It is, in fact, the fourth-largest new game release of the year (in terms of sales from physical retailers). Despite a 29 per cent week-on-week drop in sales, God of War: Ragnarök got to the top of the UK Boxed Charts for the final week of 2022. This dip in sales is not a cause for concern, as all game sales drop in the week after Christmas.
FIFA 23 falls to second place after a 65 per cent reduction in sales week on week, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe rises to third place after a 40 per cent loss in sales, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 falls two places to place number four after a 64 per cent drop in sales.
Need for Speed: Unbound , The Callisto Protocol , and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion were the greatest releases of the last month, but in terms of sales, those titles have been big disappointments, at least in the United Kingdom. Need for Speed: Unbound is ranked 31st after a 54 per cent drop in sales; The Callisto Protocol is placed at number 34 after a 61 per cent drop; and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is ranked 35th after a 58 per cent drop.
