Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will soon grace PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles around the world. The upcoming edition will bring a new area and a fresh story.
Ghost of Tsushima will celebrate its one-year anniversary on July 17, 2021. Hallmark has taught us that the present for your first anniversary is paper but the powers that be have decided to go a slightly different route.
Instead of gifts made of paper, fans of the game will be getting Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut. The new and improved version of Jin's story will be available on PS4 and PS5 consoles on August 20, 2021.
The new edition will pack the original game, along with every piece of additional content released to date and a brand-new adventure for Jin with a bunch of new features.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut - Iki Island
Tsushima's neighbour, Iki island was also invaded during the time period the game is set in. The new area will welcome Jin as he investigates rumours of Mongol presence on the island.
Jin's rumour authenticating will quickly morph into a story with deeply personal stakes which will force him to go through some less-than-pleasant moments from his past.
Iki island will offer up a beautiful backdrop to a brand-new story, characters and content that includes new environments to explore, new armour for Jin and his horse, new mini-games, techniques, enemy types, and more.
New animals you can pet confirmed and incoming. On a less exciting note, the Director’s Cut will also bring new unlockable Trophies.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut - how to transfer your progress
Fans who already own a PS4 version of the game will be able to carry their save over to PlayStation 5.
New players will be admitted to the Iki Island as soon as they reach Act 2 of Ghost of Tsushima after they've made their way through the Toyotama region.
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut updates
A patch holding some fresh features will be available to everyone who owns a copy of Ghost of Tsushima, once the Director's Cut hits the shelves.
All players will receive an update with some new accessibility options for alternate controller layouts and the option to target lock-onto an enemy during combat - for those extra annoying foes.
After a brief Twitter search, we think we found one lucky fan of the game who'll get their wish in Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut: there will be an option to hide your quiver during gameplay.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will also get updated, starting with an all-new, but very mysterious mode which will be detailed in the coming weeks.
The updates postmarked for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will also be available to owners of any version of Ghost of Tsushima on either platform in exchange for one heartfelt "Thank you".
