Sucker Punch's samurai fantasy Ghost of Tsushima is finally getting some air time, as Sony announced extended look at the game on a State of Play episode scheduled for this week.
So, players will get their extended look at Ghost of Tsushima this Thursday, May 14 at 1:00pm Pacific Time / 4:00pm Eastern Time / 8pm GMT.
Soon-to-be-samurai can watch the presentation on Twitch and YouTube . Sony said that the current cut of the episode is around 18 minutes long, so expect something in the ballpark.
The company stressed that there will be no PlayStation 5 reveals, news or updates on the State of Play, as the episode is solely focused on Ghost of Tsushima.
While we certainly wouldn't say no to some PS5 sneak peeks, we're currently more interested in Sucker Punch's take on the lone samurai.
You may recall that Ghost of Tsushima was announced at the same time as Days Gone and Spiderman, both of which launched a while ago. Perhaps even symbolically, Sucker Punch's lone samurai is coming alone and probably as the last PS4 exclusive prior to Sony's switch to cross-gen and PS5.
Initially planned for launch on June 26 2020, Ghost of Tsushima's launch was pushed back to July 17. With the State of Play scheduled and the episode presumably cut already, it's safe to assume that Sony will launch the game without further delays.
When it comes to authenticity, Sucker Punch didn't save time or effort and consulted everyone from historians and katana experts to colleagues. This should serve the game in good stead, not least because of the historical implications of the era and the island of Tsushima.
