A Genshin Impact video has revealed that the upcoming character, Kamisato Ayato, has seen some changes to his elemental skill. He is expected to arrive at the live servers on update 2.6.

The official Genshin Impact  Twitter account has finally confirmed that we are going to see a new addition to the character roster, the long-awaited Hydro sword user Kamisato Ayato.

Recent beta leaks have revealed a lot of information about the upcoming Genshin Impact update 2.6 which should arrive at the end of March. The new update will apparently bring another double banner re-run alongside Ayato.

A previous Genshin Impact leak has revealed  that the Ayato has been changed again. After multiple buffs, Hoyoverse decided to hit his elemental skill with a small nerf. The taunt from his hydro shell has been removed and it now explodes if nearby enemies are around.

This change won't affect his skill damage at all but it can impact his playstyle.Another leak on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit shows this change in action featuring Ayato fighting a Hilichurl

A recent rumor  on the same subreddit apparently reveals more about Ayato's party role. According to a leak on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, Ayato will have strong DPS capabilities. He will be a traditional DPS character with a strong focus on Normal Attacks, similar to Arataki Itto.

Ayato is confirmed to be on the first banner cycle which means that there will be another banner re-run for the second banner. Multiple leaks have already revealed that the second cycle will bring two popular characters - Ayaka and Venti. Ayaka's arrival does not come as a surprise since she's Ayato's sister. Many fans expect them to have a great synergy considering that they are siblings and their elements, Hydro and Cryo, can trigger a very strong elemental reaction.
