His art also confirms that he will be using a Sword despite multiple rumors claiming that he might be another Polearm user.

Ayato is confirmed to be on the first banner cycle which means that there will be another banner re-run for the second banner. Multiple leaks have already revealed that the second cycle will bring two popular characters - Ayaka and Venti.
Ayaka's arrival does not come as a surprise since she's Ayato's sister. Many fans expect them to have a great synergy considering that they are siblings and their elements, Hydro and Cryo, can trigger a very strong elemental reaction.

A recent rumor on the same subreddit apparently reveals more about Ayato's party role. According to a leak on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, Ayato will have strong DPS capabilities. He will be a traditional DPS character with a strong focus on Normal Attacks, similar to Arataki Itto.
The livestream will most likely reveal more information about the long-awaited region named Chasm. The livestream for update 2.5 has confirmed the arrival of this region in the foreseeable future.
