Netmarble Neo has officially announced that Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will become available in Early Access for PC on Steam beginning March 26, 2025. The game developers released this announcement following the presentation of its demo at Steam Next Fest which provided players their first glimpse into the upcoming action RPG environment based on Game of Thrones.
The Early Access version of the game will restrict immediate access to some players. Players must buy one of the three Founder’s Packs to access the Early Access version because these packages include exclusive rewards and early access to the game. Each pack includes unique items along with special outfits, mounts, currency and additional features.
The Early Access release will feature major locations such as King’s Landing, Highgarden, and Winterfell and deliver extensive content through 50 story chapters along with side missions and endgame PvE challenges.
Founder’s Packs and Exclusive Rewards
Players need to buy one of the three Founder’s Packs to access Game of Thrones: Kingsroad during Early Access.
- The Standard Pack grants game access and rewards players with 350 Iron Bank Marks alongside the Northern Outfit and Jon Snow Emoji Pack.
- The Deluxe Pack includes a Premium Battle Pass, additional clothing options like the Wandering Crow Outfit, a Darkcloud Mount, 50,000 Copper, 750 Iron Bank Marks plus exclusive nameplate cosmetics.
- Ultimate Pack consists of Deluxe Pack content plus additional benefits such as the White Fang Mount, a Premium+ Battle Pass, Brotherhood Without Banners-themed saddle and reins, and more in-game currency.
Players receive early access to game content through these packs and gain valuable in-game resources which help them establish an advantage from the start.
Story and gameplay features
Kingsroad introduces a brand new story while remaining within the universe created by George R.R. Martin unlike earlier Game of Thrones games.
Players control the illegitimate offspring of House Tyre who reside within the noble but modest Northern house. The players must traverse Westeros’ dangerous landscape where they will meet powerful factions and help the Night’s Watch while building their political power.
Players can engage in real-time combat while mastering blocks, dodges, and parries to experience skill-based battles in the game.
The developers characterize the game combat as "impactful and exhilarating," with a strong emphasis on intense sword battles and tactical engagements.
Kingsroad offers co-op gameplay features which allow players to join forces during difficult battles to earn better rewards.
What to expect in Early Access
At launch, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will launch with diverse content that includes:
- The game features 50 principal story chapters which contribute to Westeros' lore expansion.
- Players will explore major Westerosi locations including King’s Landing, Highgarden, and Winterfell.
- The game features side missions as well as co-op dungeons that provide players with extra rewards.
- Endgame PvE challenges for experienced players
- Upcoming updates will introduce new areas like Storm’s End and Felwood.
Release date and availability
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is scheduled to launch in Early Access on March 26, 2025 exclusively through Steam.
Access to the Seven Kingdoms during pre-launch is limited to the owners of Founder’s Pack who purchase one of the three available packs.
