There's never been a better time for the cheapskating brigade and if you're a fan of Conan the Cimmerian then all the better, as Funcom are making the Conan trilogy available for free this weekend on Steam. Genre? Well, take your pick!
We're talking about Conan Exiles, Age of Conan: Unchained and Conan Unconquered, and they're all free-to-play this weekend, courtesy of Funcom.
Thankfully, the difference in genres means that whatever gaming flavour you may prefer - there's something there for everyone.
Conan Exiles is a survival game, and you should probably know that its first month of sales ended up just a few thousand copies shy of Funcom's annual expectations. If that's not enough of a guarantee, feel free to take a look at Steam reviews that rate it as mostly positive.
Set in the Hyborian Age, Conan Exiles has players exploring the titular badlands, after being sentenced to death by crucifixion and saved from it by Conan himself.
Age of Conan: Unchained is the oldest of the bunch - an MMORPG from 2008, so you shouldn't have issues finding out just about everything about it. For starters, it's still alive, which is one of the best guarantees of quality today.
The game takes place a year after the novel The Hour of the and has an extensive combat system that Funcom calls Real Combat.
Last but not least, and the youngest game of the lot, by the way, is Conan Unconquered, and it's a real-time strategy. Developed by Petroglyph and published by Funcom, it launched in May 2019 to some pretty nice reviews.
You should know that the game incorporates quite a few tower defence elements, so it's not a pure real-time strategy, but Conan Unconquered should give you many hours of fun.
Naturally, taking all these Conan games won't cost you a thing, so there's no reason not to give them a go.
