Another year and another set of Xbox One goodies as Microsoft announced the games coming to their Game Pass service in January 2020. We're talking about the real-time strategy gem Frostpunk, Tekken 7 and Sword Art: Fatal Bullet.
Starting on 9 January 2020, which is two days from now at the time of writing, the Xbox crowd is getting treated to what you've probably realised is one of our favourite strategy games - Frostpunk: Console Edition.
"A society survival game where heat means life and every decision comes at a price. As the leader of the last civilized society on Earth, you’re tasked with building a city for your survivors to live in, discover new technologies, explore frozen wastelands and most importantly, manage and rule society to prepare it for life in an unforgiving world", the description reads.
On the same day, Xbox Game Pass owners are getting Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, which is definitely a treat for the fans of the popular anime series. If you're not familiar with it, it's a third-person action RPG that could easily make you a fan after taking a dive into Gun Gale Online.
Last but not least is Tekken 7, Bandai Namco's latest edition of the globally popular fighting franchise, which will be available to Game Pass owners on 16 January 2020. This is the first Tekken to be built in Epic's Unreal Engine and boy does it show - the game is as flowing as it is gorgeous, not to mention its awesome couch-play opportunities. Get ready to lose friends, by the way.
If you're worried about how Frostpunk's controls translate from mouse and keyboard to controllers - worry not, as 11 bit studios thought about it long and hard, coming up with a genuinely flowing strategy on a controller. You can learn more about that here , and although it's about PS4's controllers, it's the same principles.
