It took them a while but Turn 10 Studios have managed to turn (no pun intended) Forza Motorsport into a decent game. I'd argue that it was very good on launch but a lot of hardcore Motorsport fans were disappointed with the game's lack of content and technical issues.
Fast forward to the game's one-year anniversary and the change is obvious, especially after another big update that Turn 10 dropped today. Update 13 introduces the long-awaited Drift Mode and a new track - the iconic Sunset Peninsula - which appears in a Motorsport game for the first time since probably the most beloved Motorsport ever - Forza Motorsport 4.
Here's the breakdown of Update 13:
- New mode: Drift Mode
- New track: Sunset Peninsula
- New options for Practice and Qualifying in Private Multiplayer races
- 3 new, free Mustang cars: the 2024 Ford #25 Mustang RTR, 2024 Ford #88 Mustang RTR, and 2024 Ford #130 Mustang RTR
- Additional upgrades for Forza Race Regulations
- Improved Drivatar AI trailing ability
- Improved Virginia International Raceway with new grass and more
For the next update, expect new career and multiplayer events as well as a focus on bug fixes. Turn 10 say they plan to release the next track (Bathurst) in Update 15, which is coming in mid-December.
This will be the last track update in 2024 but more will be coming in 2025.
