According to reliable industry insider and journalist Jeff Grubb, Forza Horizon 5 could release before Forza Motorsport. Grubb says the next Forza Horizon game might come out next year.
Earlier this year, Microsoft officially announced that a brand new Forza game is in development for Xbox Series X. We got to see an in-engine trailer, which certainly looked spectacular but additional details such as a target release window have not been shared, which suggests that the game is still in early development.
And according to a reliable industry insider and VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, it looks like Forza Motorsport indeed won't be coming anytime soon. However, he also states that Forza Horizon 5 could release before the announced Motorsport title. The release might happen as soon as next year. Check out the interesting bit from the Xbox Empire podcast (at the 1:25:10 mark) below:
"Well, I don't think gamers are going to go crazy with this [announcement], the new Forza Motorsport was announced a few months ago, but I think we might have the next Forza Horizon game first and it might be coming the next year."
Furthermore, Grubb also jokingly hints that Japan could be the setting of the next Forza Horizon 5 game but you should take this one with a grain of salt.
All in all, this is big news and it will come as a surprise to many Forza franchise fans. At the moment, it's not clear why would Microsoft decide to announce Forza Motorsport game if Forza Horizon 5 is indeed coming next year but we're not complaining since Forza Horizon 4 is one of our favourite racing games at the moment and we certainly want more so bring that Forza Horizon 5 announcement, Microsoft.
