Forspoken expansion named In Tanta We Trust is officially coming to PlayStation 5 and PC on May 26, 2023, the publisher Square Enix announced today.
Today, Japanese publisher Square Enix announced that Forspoken is getting new story downloadable content (DLC) on May 26, 2023. The DLC named In Tanta We Trust is coming to both PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam , Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.
Square Enix also shared first story details for In Tanta We Trust expansion, which will serve as a prequel to the story in the main game and it's set 25 years before the events of Forspoken. Here's a brief description of the plot:
"Continuing her search for a way to eradicate the Break from Athia once and for all, Frey finds herself following a mysterious voice that leads her to a place that somehow transports her to the Purge of the Rheddig, the legendary battle that devastated Athia and eventually drove the Tantas to madness. Accompanied by Tanta Cinta and a new set of magical abilities, Frey must uncover the answers and save Athia once more – and attempt to save herself."
The expansion will see players battle alongside Tanta Cinta with new magical abilities against the new enemy type called Rheddig. Square Enix promise new vertically designed environments that will perfectly suit Frey's parkour skills.
Forspoken's DLC In Tanta We Trust will be available in early access on May 23, 2023, to players who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of Forspoken. Those who own the main game only will be able to purchase the DLC separately.
All in all, we're really hopeful that this DLC will improve on the base game, which was not really accepted well by the critics and players . Forspoken was praised for its combat and parkour but criticised for its bland open world, lacklustre story and characters, including the main protagonist.
