It's been a few weeks since FIFA 19 started its hunt for the first spot in UK's physical sales chart, picking up speed a bit faster than Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2, whose second stint in the first place has now come to an end.

Of course, with holiday sales now behind us, this time around it wasn't about whose results improved the most, but whose sales dropped the least. FIFA 19's sales took a dive of 62 per cent, but it was enough to edge Red Dead Redemption 2.

In comparison, Rockstar's Western masterpiece saw a 64 per cent decline in sales, so it wasn't that far behind FIFA 19. Nevertheless, the difference between the first and second place was so minute that 2 per cent decided the bout.

There were very little changes elsewhere, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Battlefield V and Forza Horizon 4 holding onto their respective spots, in spite of some hefty drops. For instance, Treyarch's shooter dropped by as much as 71 per cent, but this is to be expected, especially at this time of year.

Some reshuffling went down towards the end of the top 10, with Spyro Reignited Trilogy dropping two spots and now sits in ninth place. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy both climbed up one spot each. For what it's worth, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro have shown that fans of the original series really like boxed editions.

After coming in tenth place last week, Marvel's Spider-Man has dropped out of the top 10, with Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Odyssey taking its place instead.

Apparently, physical sales took a 59 per cent dip overall, which again is expected this time of the year. As usual, the chart solely covers physical sales, so they're more of an indicator of sales than hard facts. The remainder of the top 10 is as follows:

  • FIFA 19
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
  • Super Smash Bros Ultimate
  • Battlefield V
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  • Spyro Reignited Trilogy
  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey
