Epic Games took the world by storm in 2017 with the official release of their game Fortnite's Battle Royale game mode. With time, Battle Royale took over the reins from their Save the World game mode, leading to increased sales of the in-game currency V-Bucks.
To allow players to easily add V-Bucks to their account in-game, Epic Games introduced V-Bucks cards, which allow players to add funds to their game in no time.
The V-Bucks card has since then become an integral part of the Fortnite ecosystem. Unfortunately, from this year, Epic Games is officially pulling the plug on their V-Bucks cards by retiring them from all store shelves.
Epic Games is Retiring All V-Bucks Cards in 2025
Starting from this year, Epic Games is officially taking out V-Bucks cards and replacing them with Fortnite gift cards, which will directly add funds to your account.
The direct funds added to your account can be used to purchase Fortnite V-Bucks through the Epic Games Launcher and from the in-game add V-Bucks menu.
Aside from that, the new gift cards will be the prime way for everyone to add funds to their Epic Games accounts, allowing them to purchase games, DLCs, and other content from the Epic Games Store on PC and mobile.
The new Fortnite gift card can also be used to purchase a Fortnite Crew subscription, which was previously only possible through adding funds using credit cards or other payment systems.
Epic Games has also announced that with the first purchase of a Fortnite gift card, players can get the Ghost Monks outfit in Fortnite and use it in all game modes, including Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Lego Fortnite.
The Fortnite gift card rollout begins soon in the USA, Europe, and Australia. You can find these cards in select megastores and shops.
