Another day, another freebie on Epic Games. Even though you had other opportunities to get this game at no cost, you would do well to check if your EGS library has Control.
Control is one of the most well-received games in recent years and while it did have issues with pricing in regards to the Ultimate edition that would let console players use it on PS5 and XSX/S, the title was much more user-friendly for PC. You could already get it for no extra charge, along with more games, with the Amazon Prime subscription but this time around, you can truly get it for free.
All you need to do is go to the Control page on EGS or the home page for Epic Games Store and navigate to the free game offer. Click it and another window will open where you need to confirm the "purchase". If you don't want to be subscribed to the newsletter, make sure you untick the box under the price tag.
As for Control itself, it's a rather cinematic experience, along the lines of some of Sony's most popular series like GoW, Uncharted and The Last of Us. You assume the role of a newly-baked agent that is with the organisation that faces paranormal threats and of course, things go horribly wrong as you're just trying to have your first day at work.
Since Control was available on last-gen consoles, you will be able to run it with pretty much any gaming rig as even the recommended system requirements are pretty humble with GTX 1060 and RX 580 GPUs being enough, unless you plan on turning raytracing on. In that case you'll need at least an RTX 2060.
