Remedy has been teasing The Foundation for some time now and with the release confirmed for 26 March 2020, it's time for a trailer and a breakdown of all the skills, abilities, enemies and the rest coming with Control's upcoming expansion.
As the story goes, "the Astral Plane is colliding with our reality. Jesse Faden, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, must travel through the caverns of the Foundation to prevent the Astral Plane from consuming the Oldest House. The missing Head of Operations, Helen Marshall, may hold some answers to the mysteries surrounding this threat."
The Foundation adds an all-new level for Control players to access via the Hotline Chamber in Central Executive, but you should know it requires finishing the main game first. Overall, Remedy estimate around 4-5 hours of playing time, which includes the main and side missions.
As for Jesse's new abilities, The Foundation comes with an exclusive ability called Shape and an upgrade to the Service Weapon Fracture, which will let her "transform and shatter the Foundation's environments."
She is also getting Shield Rush, which lets her charge her enemies and knocks them on their behinds, which will come in the March update.
Control is getting a new enemy type in the caves under the Oldest House, the Hiss Sharpened, which Remedy promise will give players quite a bit of trouble. Considering they come at players from all directions, the dev advises players on using Shield Rush and Levitate to their advantage.
"In response to player feedback, we’ve improved the functionality of the map, added the option to reallocate Ability points using Essence at Control points, and other quality of life improvements. There’s also the Shield Rush ability upgrade and many more improvements under the hood", the dev wrote.
