If you focus on story and the main route, Elden Ring will take around 30 hours to complete. However, that number will get much bigger if exploration is your thing.
Elden Ring producer, Yasuhiro Kitao, has revealed a ton of new details about the game mechanics in his latest interview at Taipei Game Show 2022 . One of the burning questions that players have been asking forever is regarding the game's length.
Kitao has finally confirmed that beating the main story, and the main story only, will take around 30 hours in Elden Ring. So this is without the side quests, exploration and optional boss fights.
"This will differ significantly by the player, but in terms of the targets set during development the idea is that the main route should be able to be completed within 30 hours," Kitao said. "The game as a whole is quite massive and contains many dozen more hours worth of gameplay but if we're talking only about the main route, it shouldn't take much longer than 30 hours."
Check Kitao's answer regarding Elden Ring's length in the video below from the 33:05 mark.
For the main story, that's fairly long and we doubt From Software fans will have any complaints. However, it still remains to be seen how long will it take to complete every side quest, beat every optional boss and find every secret in the game. If we had to guess, we would say Elden Ring will probably be a 100 hour game for completionists.
Elden Ring is out February 25, 2022, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
